This is my dog KAS (named after Kass Winthrop from Another World). He's a great dog. He's been ill off and on for the past year or so. I have been going broke trying to get him back to 100%. His doctor told me that it was inhumane to keep him alive. The selfish side of me that loved him too much wanted to hold on and have faith that he'd get better. The doctor said that I had a really sweet dog and that he was too sweet for me to allow him to suffer. I didn't want him to hurt. So I told the doctor to do what he felt had to be done. My dog died yesterday 12/20/04. I haven't cried so hard since losing my mom. It's funny how a stupid dog can have such an impact on your life and your family. They have personalities, they love hard, they protect you and make you laugh. If he were really just some stupid dog, I would just replace him and get another. He wasn't, he was like my child and the doctor advised me to pull the plug. Some people say, "you can't compare a pet to a person!" That's Bullshit! If you ever had a pet, I guess you know what I mean. In the meantime,.....I mourn.

Jazz... my heart goes out. You know I always had a soft spot for Kas. I know it was a difficult decision to make and I admire your selfless compassion and courage.

I lost my dog last year last New Years Eve. I hope you feel better but I know that it takes time. I hope you feel better...do what I did...take up a new hobbie...it dosnet help but if you take up corchet you'll end up like me...a dork with an excess of scarfs;)

I completely understand. I had to put my beloved cat to sleep after he was hit by a car. I cried and cried and cried. Sigh! What a sweet looking dog. Take care.
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Dogs are a breed that really love unconditionally and I know it was a hard decision to make. That was very selfless of you because at the end of the day, you don't him to keep suffering like he was. I wish there could have been another solution for little Kas. You're in my prayers. *big hug*

sorry to hear that sad news about Kas. Pets are like Family members sometimes better actually. I've become attached to alot of my pets over the years and I can relate to the feeling of loss. Hang in there girl.

Jazz... I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Although I do not have a pet, I can clearly understand how one could become so attached to them. They are extensions of our families no doubt. I pray that your heartache is comforted with a new bundle of joy soon.
I am sorry to hear about your dog. Pets are family, and you lost a member of yours to illness. There's no reason to feel bad about that. I hope you feel better soon!
